Hi...this reply is super late, but I hope that's ok. I recall the noise stopping at a certain point during the night, so yes, I did get some sleep (aside from the fact that we were too exhausted exploring the other parts of Yangshuo)...Your email sounded like you had been there...Yangshuo is a lovely, charming place, pretty much like the backpacker atmosphere in Kathmandu during its heydey.
