Presentation by Warren Meyer, of climate-skeptic.com, at the California Regional Council of Rural Counties at South Lake Tahoe in September, 2008. The presentation is called "Don't Panic -- A Critique of Catastrophic Man-Made Global Warming Theory." Focuses on a number of topics, including the lack of real evidence of anthropogenic climate change as well as the use of positive feedback in models to create catastrophic forecasts.

There were NO weapons of mass destruction in Iraq - just as Dr. Hans Blix said; But, the Republican media machine didn't want us to hear that.

And, there is NO dangerous climate change caused by human carbon dioxide - just as the "independent scientists" are now trying to tell us! But, the Democrat media machine doesn't want us to hear that.

We are made to run from one boogieman to the next, as each political party achieves its own agendas for themselves & their money mates.

If a climate model is set up with unphysical initial conditions, it may be possible to get a response which expends the energy given to it in the initial conditions.

Does that mean it happens in the real world? Almost certainly not - just like we don't find objects floating around waiting to be pushed downwards.

It is far more likely that ice albedo and water vapour exist today in equlibrium conditions.

    Don't Panic!

Look at the ball sitting at the top of the hill in the video. A crucial point is that something gave it the potential energy to get up there. If it starts rolling down the hill, all it is doing is expending the potential energy that was given to it at the start of the experiment.

When it has done that, it will come to rest in an equlibrium state - like the ball shown to the left at that point in the video.

  • The points on this video are well made.

There is a very big difference between something which *can* happen and something which is actually happening.

Although gravity definitiely exists (it is ab everyday experience), we do not expect to find objects floating in the air, waiting for somebody to give then a push to head groundwards.

So it may be with phenomena which may occur in the climate system.
