I tested mine when I made some at home, and the one I tested burned for 5 minutes on my cement driveway--in the rain. GREAT fire starter. The best thing I've ever used.

"then you've got other problems" too funny!

I am amazed at some of the negative comments. This is not the only way to start a fire, just one of the easiest. I carry a prescription bottle with cotton balls in the truck. I also have an altoids tin with a fire steel some char cloth and pine resin. I carry this stuff every where I go. It's only smart money to be prepared.

know what else works great? dryer lint. a strike from a firesteel sets it aflame instantly as well.

Great tip! Thanks!

Hand sanitizer and dryer lint, as long as youre drying cotton and not polyester. Well, I dunno, the polyester dryer lint would probably burn too, just not too sure for how long it would burn. Stick with cotton. But I have an old prescription bottle with a couple balls of cotton dryer lint soaked in hand sanitizer in my EDC, works slick.

I cary a film canister stufed with these. works great 10 or 12 fires in one canister.
Easy...that's the point.
