RoDes - A room design application on the Touch & Write Multi-Touch Table

We propose a novel application for designing the interior of a room. This application allows to sketch the floor plan of a room by using intuitive pen-input. The pen-strokes are automatically processed by the Touch & Write API and a conversion into geometric shapes or metrics is performed. Using multi-touch gestures, the desired furniture can be selected from a product database and placed in the floor plan. They can be moved and rotated just as paper snippets on a usual paper floor plan -- however, everything is machine-readable. This allows a direct conversion into a 3D-rendered scene of the room design. While this video shows an early prototype of the 3D model, we have already improved the 3D visualization and the input metaphors for navigation. Come and visit us at www.touchandwrite.de
