I think i'm right in saying that Richard Carpenter wrote the series after writing the excellent Catweazle starring the late great Geoffery Bayldon.

@Guitar7mark Funnily enough Joanne Froggatt was a Rentaghost fan so she could only see Audrey Nicholls as Miss Popov when she joined the cast of Corrie
