Being here in Arizona, we too were delt the same fate. It is not only disappointing but frightening as well. We do become complacent in trying to be the good "fag" so we do not offend and make others around us uncomfortable. More whites than blacks voted against prop 8. Why won't people do the maths? instead of passing blame?

I, personally, don't have blame for the black community. If we would have put the time in to reach out to them... Then, in my belief, we would have been a lot better off. If we hadn't reached out to the general white community as much as we did, then we would have lost miserably, rather than a tight lose.

I'm just speculating, but I'm not blaming the black community.

Your Podcast is more helpful than you may realize. I like the idea of P.D. A.s and holding hands becoming the gay W.M.D. Most important is that you are giving our gay youth a positive message they need. Thanks a lot for saying what - as the other comments make clear - is on many of our minds. A bittersweet election is, by now, almost too kind a characterization - the disappointments from Obama's administration are the rule, not the exception, and I think many of us will feel like we have a bad taste in our mouth, before long, whenever we recall the enthusiastic statements with which we embraced this man and the hopes he raised.
