"OBAMANATION" political song by Ash Soular

I'm grateful to have the right to be outspoken. I wanted to express how I felt about this past election, but I'm not very good at writing political blogs or particularly fond of debating. So I figured, how better to express my opinion than to write a song.

** To elaborate: This song is about how we've forgotten the importance of our leaders' character. The expression, "Obamanation", (a play on words, yes) is also meant to symbolize a reality where people vote for politicians based upon charisma, instead of the content of their character.

It's describing a situation where we are blinded by those whose main goal is to spend more of our tax money while ignoring our values.

It reminds us that the change THEY want may not be the change that YOU want. Let them know whose change matters. **

What makes me crazy is seeing how many people are willing to lay so much blame at Obama's feet when you'd think any fool could see that the seeds of many of our current problems were sown when Bush was in office.

And you know, it's not even like I'm an especially big fan of Obama. I mean yes, I voted for him, but goodness knows he could be doing a lot more than he is to deal with this nation's problems. He's an okay President, especially compared to Bush, but only okay. The Republicans haven't helped. Since he's taken office they seem more interested in petty gripes, childish squabbles and pointless obstructionism than in doing what's best for this country.

How come you havent addressed why, in a prosperous economic eight years Bush nearly tripled the U.S. national debt and exported toxic packaged debts that have caused a worldwide recession, the cost of which is $5trillion additional debt to stop the american banking system collapsing. @Echeque5 The american national debt has inreased under obama BUT the increase is SOLELY attributable to the utter incompetence of the Bush administration. If Obama hadnt used the public money to shore up the american banking system america would have gone bancrupt.
