Comparsion of the Garmin Forerunner 310XT vs the Polar RS800CX PTE Premium - regardiing only the size and Design.
If you like I'll do a real comparsion in detail.
For now I can tell you: If you are a Thriathlete, you probably already own the 310xt.
For all others: The Polar does work and will give you very detailed information about your performance - but: I hate all the batterys, the clumsy software without Mac-Support, the infrared data-transmission. If you want to get hassle-free information on speed, heart-rate, track and distance - look no further the 310xt will exactly do this. You just need two things: the 310xt and the heart-rate-monitor. When you get close to your computer, the data will be uploaded instantly to the garmin Website, where you can do a better research on your data.
So: my recommendation is: Garmin Forerunner 310xt
I guess it depends on what you do with the data? I can convert the Garmin gps data to watts through a 3rd party vendor, but the HR data is crap.
If Garmin could produce a better HR monitor that measured R-R values and do a better job of supporting their existing products they would be the clear winner. I am not satisfied with either product.

Couldn't agree more. 310 xt is the business. That's why I paid a fucking fortune to buy one. Price is stupid but watch is shit hot :-)
