  • that is NOT a bullet train

  • No, it is not--good observation. Look up the term "Baby Bullet".

  • nice catch! I was on a short Starlight (4 superliners, 1baggage) back in March with 2 P42s double heading. They brought the train up to track speed in no time. We made the trip from SLO to SAC in 7 1/2 hours. The scheduled time is 8 hours, 16 min.

  • thanks! yeah, that's quick for the starlight

  • Caltrain wins!

  • haha

  • doubleheder with CDTX 8306? Gotta be the best

  • Yeah that could be, because they've been the same numbers. Not too long ago, I saw 2052 and a P42 double-heading a SB train.

  • If they are the same numbers, then it's possible one of them is having intermittent mechanial issues, so the second unit is there as insurance.

I rode one to Sacramento many months ago, and got delayed due to HEP (Head End Power) shutting down all of a sudden, right in front of the Santa Clara Depot.

  • thanks! for some reason, that capitol trainset is still doubleheaded this week, i cant seem to figure out why they didnt let off one of the locos.
