January 16, 2012 - Crawfordsville, IN. I found four fresh repaints headed west through Crawfordsville today. They were being dragged along by two junky G.E. Dash 8's. The repaint units in order are 2306 & 6432 which are EMD GP 40-2's, then there are 2700 & 2638 which are EMD GP 38-2's. All repaints are of the CSX dark blue with yellow stripes and characters. As they passed my house they looked really nice on the outside so I would hope the cab interiors look just as nice but I have no way of knowing. These units are 20-40 years old each but with fresh paint they look brand new all over again. Lighting was bad because it was mid afternoon with heavy overcast skies and 52* degrees. I know it's wild, we're in the middle of winter and it's 50's and 60's. Hell Yeah!!! The winds are gusting strong right now and I used my cellphone to record this so sound is junk.
