This is a new thing for him, (he has autism spectrum disorder, oral dyspraxia and struggles with motor planning ~ for those new to my page) Almost like he is speaking another language. I know kids babble or say words that arent quite right but this is different. Hard to explain. Hopefully it is just a faze, he does get stuck on things so perhaps even that, who knows :)

  • I'd like to share my blog with you, I think it'll be very helpful in helping you. It shares Hunters journey & some very special things you'll discover w/ ASD & of course some of the typical things seen that your doc saw but you may not realize yet. thegiftofasd.blogspot dot com Not all those w/ASD are nonverbal. Hunter does talk, very well at times now but his ability is compromised w/certain situations & thats very typical. I am here for you anytime!

  • Big hugs!! I am thinking of you as you begin this journey ((hugs)) I messaged you as well. Like you I learned that what I thought autism was wasnt it at all. Thats why it's actually known as autism spectrum disorder. continued...

  • hi there, how old is your boy? mine turned 2 in sept and was diagnosed with autism a week back.... its strange because other than lack of joint attention and speech delay he does not display the "typical" symptoms of autism...hence im finding it even more difficult to accept and am in complete denial as of now but we start therapy this week so i hope my mindset will change. does he use any words at all? bless him
