Here is the old light set-up of my 2004 F-150 and my brother's 2000 F-250. Mine is a pair of Whacker Tech. led grille lights and a Whelen 8 strobe with front/rear flashers, takedowns, and alleys. My brother's is a Whelen 14 head liberty led bar with takedowns, alleys, and a traffic advisor built into the rear warning lights. He also has a headlight flasher.

Update: I now have the LED bar on the red F-150 with new grille lights and rear lights. check out my other videos.

  • Was that Edge bar a 55"?

  • @b747dude

Yeah, it is. I still have it sitting in my garage. Only changed to the led bar b/c no one in my area uses lightbars and everybody thought I was a cop. At least now they can't tell what color it is until I turn it on.

  • @canderson180 I wouldn't mind the luxury of being mistaken as a cop lol :P I actually really like lightbars with colored lenses. I'm probably going to put one on a 1999 F-150 thats going to be mine in a year...By the way, is having a lightbar really that bad? I mean do other volunteers give you shit shit, or more like messing with you kind of shit?

  • @b747dude

It's just more guys giving me shit than anything. Most guys on my depts don't even use any kind of light, yet i have more lights than some of the local cops. I really like the lightbar. It moves traffic great and looks good on my truck. The other reasons I switched were b/c I got the other led grille and rear lights and the fact that the led lightbar is better on fuel. I noticed an immediate 2mpg increase when I switched the bars.

  • @canderson180 I don't quite get what you mean by "more than anything" sorry lol. Would you mind explaining that? I told another guy on youtube that lights are ok but when you put so many that not even official emergency vehicles have as many, it starts to look unprofessional. You seem to have just the right amount though. I used to hate it when there was a mix of strobe/led or halogen/led on one vehicle, but now I don't have a problem with it. Probably gettin two 500 series TIR6's for the grille

There will always be those who think you have lights just to abuse the purpose. I've only had a couple of those. I think the way my truck is set up now is perfect. Not too much, but enough to get it done. I have a video of how it is set up now on here too.

  • @canderson180 Yeah...it sucks that not everyone can get along even though you need to once your on scene...

  • @b747dude

Nothing really. Just where I live, nobody uses them. I am one of the only ones on both my fire depts. that even uses lights at all. I have the LED bar on the red F150 now. I love the way it moves traffic but often catch shit from other firefighters for being the only one with a lightbar.

  • @canderson180 whats wrong with having a lightbar?
