  • Hello Pete,

I welcome you to the growing group of self taught accordionists on YouTube. Please accept the video response that I sent you by visiting the "Video Response" section of your inbox. I think you play it better (faster and more smoothly) than I did when I was at that point in the course. You show great potential. I wish you success in your musical adventure on the accordion.

  • Do you find it easier to use the second an third finger instead the third and fourth finger to play the bass notes?

  • Sounds good. Practice, practice, practice is the key.

  • I'm sorry, a 4/3 finger pattern on an accordion bass is i.e. the 4th (Ring) finger on the c bass, then the 3rd finger is free to work the c major cord and the index finger can easily get to the c 7th, and diminished cords. You will find this very helpful as you expand your bass prowess. Don't hesitate to contact me if I can help you.

  • @pmckee02 hi what do you mean by 4- 3 fingering. i dont want to get into bad habits . is that as if you would use finger 3 for say c thenfinger for to hit g?

  • great, i'm just starting to teach myself too, w/ the P&H book 1....

  • Hello Pete,

My name is Pete too, and I have played accordion for over 50 yrs. You are doing ok. Use a 4-3 fingering on your bass. As time goes on you will find that much easier. Get used to it now and you won't be limited as time goes on. Keep up the good work.

    Pete

  • wow, I love it! So smooth and quick!
