What a beautiful home you have! I am jealous lol How blessed you are! As for the stuff I have read in comments : This place was in existence 700 + years (probably more) before America was even thought of . Do not yell about their Whaling. It is the old way and simply not ours. Do not presume to tell them they are wrong. How Rude! I am in love with your islands AND your traditions! VERY Lovely!

@picpocarmy That doesn´t make sense. Your attitude is just a pretence. Your threats and poor writing skills state an obvious fact. You don´t how to write basic English. You are completely oblivious to how the Grind is killed. Even though I´m not a christian, I´ll still use the words "judge not less yet ye be judged". Look at you own country before you come here with you lame smacktalk. Your country slaughters an extreme amount of cattle and other animals like chicken. How are they slaughtered?

On the way to you will see one of the most spectacular waterfalls (my favorite). Then it comes Kirkjubø, which is such a special place because of it's history. You should take a trip on the sea to Vestmanna Cliffs or to the cave of Gjógv where there are concerts kept because the acoustic is fantastic. Or you can simply go around Torshavn and relax. Have a piece of more modern life.
By the way, for the people who see only the whalehnt: grow up! The meat you eat is not cloned.

@puttanamalata, I would reccomend the ones that I love: island of Nolsoy, Kalsoy (this one is a little difficult to reach), then it comes a small locality called Gjógv, the village of Viðareiði from where you can get through two spectacular small tunnels with only one lane and between which is a beautiful waterfall and from where you can visit the small islands of Svinoy and Fugloy. Then it comes Tjørnuvík on Streymoy, the main island.

@lucifers666angel, it is not even Færøerne, as that one is the Danish name for them. It is either Føroyar or Faroe Islands.
-
@puttanamalata Just call it Føroyar ;)
Oh, and one more thing:
Føroyor Bjór. Num num ^^

In England we used to kill turkeys by two bars round their throat, and pulling sharply downwards. This killed them quickly, but now thanks to the EU regulations at farms the fowls are electrocuted and semi stunned then a knife is forced down their throat.
Not all die even after all that so have to be strangled in the old way.Madness.
The Faroese kept us alive in the war with pilot whale meat so we don't forget our friends. Waes hael Faroese.
