The first 30 minutes and the last 30 minutes are okay. The rest is garbage. 2 of the songs were okay....Babs Streisand and Shirley Bassey. Too many commercials, awards people don't care about, etc. It could be a one hour show.

The Oscars should nominate mainly known good films instead of mainly unknown top quality films so that the public will want to watch it. It should stop being so pretentious as to think that they know best which movies are Oscar worthy and which aren't, esp. when some of those the Academy considers as Oscar worthy aren't interesting enough to make more people want to see it. In the late 20s to the 70s, the Oscars showcased the good to great movies the public loved, and that's how it should be.

I think that maybe the people who are watching these are sort of in the minority of internet users. They have longer attention spans and are looking for things that aren't necessarily funny or entertaining in the way cat videos are.

Why NYT doesn't have so more many views?

It's magnitude of cultural influence should be enough for it.

Maybe if they spread it on the newspaper

I don't see why the Oscars are all that important. It's a group of people taking a bunch of movies that fit their tastes and picking out the best of them. And yes, it's about their tastes and not what's best; the simple fact that we even have a term like "Oscar Bait" or "Oscar prestige" completely invalidates them. The Academy's opinion on film is about as valid as any other award show's, or A.O. Scott's, or mine, or any regular schmuck's that watches enough movies.
