LiveType Title Effects

Apple's LiveType software is primarily designed for video text titles. However, it can also be used to create animation and effects - as with this widescreen PAL trailer overview for a 2 disc DVD production. The 54 tracks involved took 8 hours to render on my old G4.(Music created using SonicFire Pro).

Not sure what you exactly mean about "this blue point". Sorry. But the lines and points were animated using LT. It's just a matter of reading the User Guide and experimenting. This title took me many weeks to create, and it would be impossible to go into detail about what I exactly did 3 years ago.

The music is from one of the special "Smartsound" music discs that I purchased to use with the music software SonicFirePro (check their website).

For the little videos, shapes are created using the Character Palette (see User manual p.123) and then placing the movies into the shapes (seeUser manual p.82). Everything you need is in the User manual. Note that not all versions of LiveType are the same - the latest versions are "lite" and it may well be that it is no longer possible to create these effects.

DavidPannell - It would be impossible and impractical to create a specific tutorial on how I created this. If you play with the software, you can easily see how I did it. As it is, there are already numerous tutorials available. Remember - LiveType is not rocket science - it's up to you how you use it. There is commercially available Mac software that will do something similar. I chose LiveType because it was more of a creative challenge, and the end result looked much more impressive.
