if you don't want rolling shutter issues buy a CCD camera not a CMOS camera.

@TheFoundryChannel What is "Framewise Time shift in your plugin? I have RollingShutter option in 3DE, but your plugin works just from -1 to 1, but in 3DE I should enter exact time-number: "0.0047 sec" like this.
How can I do it in your plugin?
Thanks.

Why are they skewing the image?? they should just take the individual rows of pixels and shift the lagging ones forward.....

I'm new to this. Working with a tutorial QT file, I don't have the camera info. How can I use Rolling Shutter to stabilize the file? The only info I do have is that the file is 720 x 480 NTSC .

@GURUOM There's a good page on the manual about it (p20-21), Take a look. Essentially find a frame where there's some lines that should be vertical but are slanted, and then drag the correction parameter about until they are vertical. Hope this helps.

Hello I have a question. I have a camcorder Canon Vixia HF S20 and I want to use it for tracking. So how can I get rollingshutter distortion from this camera? Should I find lens distortion first, then render it as - "undistorted footage" and then apply for rolling shutter or I should apply rolling shutter for raw footage and only then correct lens-distortion.
Thank you very much, I'm very interesting to get this plugin for my company.

@jsambuev The technically correct way would be roshu first, but then lens dist, however in practice it's generally best to test the path both ways and see which works best. Hope this helps.

Hello shortbusheros4 We're not skewing the image with this tool. We're correcting each pixel separately. For example, in the case of a camera moving only vertically, this will correct the squashing or stretching of the content vertically, not along rows.

is rolling shutter with EOS 7D at 1080p resolution worthy?
McNolos 2 years ago
Yep, that'll be fine McNolos, but don't take our word for it - grab the fully functioning demo license from our website and try it out for your yourself.
