Greek and Arab scholars, and later Europeans such as Descartes and Newton all tried to understand light to gain a better understanding of God. Episode one shows how much of modern science's origins came from the desire to penetrate the divine nature of light.
the documentary would have been good if it weren't for the somewhat biased view of the church.

@MrKevMan - It stands just as stated. The fact that you lack the mental acumen to understand is, of course expected. It goes like this in philosophy/religion/science
Simplex- Complex- Multiplex- Simplex. Simplistic nonsense is where you are stuck. If your reply is indicative of your mental level; simplistic nonsense is where you will likely stay.

@vinha1006 Your comment makes no sense. And yes, they are. Historially, religion has led to more murders, death, and the tearing apart of families than "poseurs like me". In fact, this is just one more example of how and why religion is counterproductive. Perhaps you need brains. One more fatal flaw with your personal attack is that, you dont know me, or my wardrobe.
I grew up when i stopped believing fairy tales. It seems like you could benifit from the same.

@MrKevMan - and why don't you grow up? the "religious nuts" are no worse than the poseurs like you.

Nice going you religious nuts, you put Bacon away for 20 years. Why not let god fight his own battles?
