  • I was doin hd through a permacath at the hospital until my pd got going. i didnt like the idea of sell canulation. Are you still on hd?

  • Yup, still on HD. I tried PD almost a year ago, but I kept having leaks, and the catheter eventually had to be taken out. I was just glad I was able to just go back on NxStage (my machine was still in my bedroom-being used as a nightstand :). I would have hated it if I had to go back to in-centre when PD failed.

  • i've been on dialysis for over 9 months now. yeah i know what you mean about in centre treatment. more freedom dialysing at home. im on my 2nd PD catheter, the first flipped upwards inside me and couldnt get anything in or out. its going good now, i do over 9hours a night 7 nights a week. im going mad not working at the moment, how about yourself?

  • I can relate as far as working goes. I'm hoping I might be able to work again when I start doing my treatments at night. I'm still waiting for the machine to be approved for nocturnal treatments. I would really like to be able to work in a dialysis centre. I actually do part-time volunteer work at my home training centre right now (when I'm able). I'm glad your second PD cath is working, and I hope it continues to.

  • You know price in USD for NXstage?

  • For a patient to do NxStage, the cost is covered by their insurance just like in-centre dialysis. If one were to buy the machine itself (which usually isn't possible due to FDA regulations), the price is around $20,000.

  • On your chest I see a cath. I assume you don't use a fistula in the arm? Is this a correct assumption?

I am on hemo at a clinic and the treatment is killing me slowly!

  • Hi, anyone please let me know the cost of this machine. my email is junkvista2@yahoo.com

  • Thank you for the excellent video. My partner is going on nexstage soon. Your video is very helpful. God Bless!

  • @sic04250f I hear you. I've been on PD for 16 months I'm going in tomorrow to reposition the catheter for the 3rd time. Will also have to do hemo for a few weeks while I heal to be able to resume PD. My Dr. has been telling me about home hemo but I'm a little leary and not quite ready to give up on the PD.

  • Hey man, I'm glad you're doing quite well on the dialysis. My kidney function is now only 24-25. I have to do either dialysis or transplant next year, or early 2011 at the very late. I read bad things regarding dialysis, but looking at your vid makes me thinking, maybe dialysis isn't all that bad after all.

    Cheers.

  • my grandmother had to go 3 times a week

until she died back on December 6 2000

not grandfather in the back with her and

they let her fall and it was on after that He told her you let her fall again I'll own you and the hospital
