Dr. Li-Qun Gu's lab at the University of Missouri uses single nanopores for a variety of biosensor applications. Recently, other research groups have begun using arrays of nanopores as sensors. This video examines the theoretical differences between single nanopores and arrays of nanopores.
These theoretical traces were made using MatLab and represent a noise-free binary switching between an open and closed pore. The purpose of this video is to show that nanopore arrays are much worse than single pores at providing single molecule data.
