UCSB's Central Javanese gamelan ensemble "Kyai Selamet" performs Gambyong Pangkur, a dance said to have origins in village-based fertility rites. Gambyong means 'together; more than one'; Pangkur refers to a meter of classical Javanese poetry. Danced in the exuberant, flirtatious style (kenes), this dance is performed at social occasions, rice harvests, birthdays, or any other events that celebrate long life. Ladrang Pangkur, pelog barang. Guest drummer: BRM Bambang Irawan; guest dancer: Noor Farida Rahmalina. Performed at the Corwin Pavilion, UCSB, May 9, 2008. Video courtesy of Karen Liu.

Good clip.
The gamelan and dancer performance were very beautiful. But I miss the "sindhen" voices and sings, that become a specialty for all gambyong dances.
Keep play the gamelan and dance... salam from Indonesia :-)
