Andrew Wasson from Creative Guitar Studio continues his three part series covering the analysis of various songwriting ideas used to create a pop/rock song.

The example piece was written by Andrew for the instructional series and contains several sections in it's layout.

In this video Andrew examines the scales that can help create strong melody lines for vocals or instrumental use.

  • Hey Andrew thank you for your lessons they are awesome. The following is a song that i came up with randomly, but know i am stuck and would like to see if this method would help me get unstuck. intro/verse-em,em,cmaj,em,cmaj, b7;chorus,em,cmaj,b7;break/verse-am,em,am,em,b7. and those are the only progressions i have, i have realized that the song gets stuck in a very monotone i dont know what to add do you think i can try to apply the family tones or is it too late.

  • me too!

  • nice and i wanna see people do it..
