You Can't Get What You Want - Joe Jackson

Sometimes you start feelin' so lost and lonely
Then you'll find it's all been in your mind
Sometimes you think someone is the one and only
Can't you see, it could be you and me?
But if there's any doubt
Then I think I'll leave it out

'cause I'll tell you one thing
You can't get what you want
Till you know what you want
Said you can't get what you want
Till you know what you want

Sometimes you keep busy reaching out for something
You don't care, there's always something there
Sometimes you can't see that all you need is one thing
If it's right, you could sleep at night
But it can take some time
But at least I'm here in line

'cause I'll tell you one thing
You can't get what you want
Till you know what you want
Said you can't get what you want
Till you know what you want

Sometimes you can't see that all you need is one thing
If it's right, you could sleep at night
But it can take some time
But at least I'm here in line

'cause I'll tell you one thing
You can't get what you want
Till you know what you want
Said you can't get what you want
Till you know what you want

  • @FleshandBlood8 It's perfect!

  • @MegaUsername500 this is actually the album version..go out and listen to the lp, 33rpm

  • perfect tempo!

  • great song. WRONG SPEED

  • Jazzy and swinging music!good and 80's music!love jazzy music.

  • Who's the girl in the picture?

  • What happened? Why is this song faster than the real thing?

  • @SHARKREEF2011 you don't get the point. You must not be a decent musician. If your tempo is faster than 120 BPM, the horn section loses The Funk. It is NOT a matter of good a player you are. It is a matter of having space between each sixteenth notes including ghost notes.

Example of good horn playing: Listen to a studio recorded album of James Brown band.

Example of bad horn playing: Listen to the SAME SONG FROM SAME BAND, but only this time, listen to a LIVE version.

  • @DancingSpiderman oh crap!any good horm player can play fast and by ear.they dont 'request" slower, unless theycant play fast..look at oingo boingo..this aint the philharmonic

  • The horn section would request a slightly slower tempo than this. Reason: In order to play the sixteenth notes in unison. Need to be able to hear the space in between the sixteenth notes, or else you've lost the funkiness , which is the purpose for having the horn section in the first place.
