The Dunblane massacre was a multiple murder-suicide which occurred at Dunblane Primary School in the Scottish town of Dunblane on 13 March 1996. Sixteen children and one adult were killed by Thomas Watt Hamilton, before he committed suicide. It remains the deadliest mass murder of children in the United Kingdom.

On 13 March 1996, unemployed former shopkeeper and former Scout leaderThomas Watt Hamilton (born Thomas Watt, Jr. 10 May 1952) walked into the Dunblane Primary School armed with two 9 mm Browning HP pistols and two Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum revolvers. He was carrying 743 cartridges, and fired his weapons 109 times. The subsequent police investigation revealed that Hamilton had loaded the magazines for his Browning with an alternating combination of full-metal-jacket and hollow-point ammunition.

After gaining entry to the school, Hamilton made his way to the gymnasium and opened fire on a Primary One class of five- and six-year-olds, killing or wounding all but one person. Fifteen children died together with their class teacher, Gwen Mayor, who was killed trying to protect the children. Hamilton then left the gymnasium through the emergency exit. In the playground outside he began shooting into a mobile classroom. A teacher in the mobile classroom had previously realised that something was seriously wrong and told the children to hide under the tables. Most of the bullets became embedded in books and equipment, though "one passed through a chair which seconds before had been used by a child." He also fired at a group of children walking in a corridor, injuring one teacher. Hamilton returned into the gym and fired one shot with one of his two revolvers pointing upwards into his mouth, killing himself instantly. A further eleven children and three adults were rushed to the hospital as soon as the emergency services arrived; one of these children was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

***About The Music In This Video***

With the consent of Bob Dylan, a Dunblane musician named Ted Christopher wrote a new verse for "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" in memory of the Dunblane school children and their teacher. The recording of the revised version of the song, which included brothers and sisters of the victims singing the chorus and Mark Knopfler on guitar, was released on 9 December 1996 in the UK, and reached number 1. The proceeds went to charities for children.

  • Speechless. So right! There is no fucking god!!! RIP

  • The more I read about this guy, Thomas Watt Hamilton, and his life, the angrier I get. What a disgusting, slimey, sick little man. Pedophiles like him and Jerry Sandusky should be lynched. Filthy evil creatures.

  • i lost my little cousin in this massacre and it still hurts to this day

  • @christjb85 oh yes the public enquiry wasnt that when all the media outlets were gagged from running stories in the news papers about the highly questionable Dunblane massacre? You still have not said why there is a 100 yr gagging order on the thousands of files that are being kept secret from the public, and dont give me some crap that the reason is to keep the identities of the children involved secret as i have heard that bullshit thousands of times, go watch Dunblane unburied on this site

  • @painsey You question me on my spelling then spell Hamilton with 2 m's. Can I ask if you're so well informed have you read the cullen report? I along with many other boys in dunblane went to his football classes. We knew him for years prior to this incident. Was that some kind of grooming project by the government? Youre minds warped! Your an attention seeking fool who needs to get over himself! Let it rest and allow the people of dunblane get on with it as they have done for the last 15 years.

  • @christjb85 im just saying the truth that Dunblane was a conspiracy (thats how you spell conspiracy and not spelt conspirocies). Do you realise that we the public are not allowed access to the thousands of documents until 2097? when government agents (MI6)are involved in an event the relevant documents are not allowed to be viewed by the public for 100 yrs, but your so brainwashed by the mass media in believing Hammilton was the sole person who carried out Dunblane that you wont question it.

  • @painsey If you are looking for attention this is the wrong place! We have managed to move on n come to terms with the pain that came with this tragedy! We were able to deal with this by sticking by each other and showing support to friends, family and to whoever else was affected. You are not helping by piping up wi your wayward conspirocies! You are in this for yourself and your over inflated ego. You are a mockery of a man! Quit posting on Dunblane rememberence videos n find another hobby
