@ZHF1992 the mp5 was made in like 1962 bro, its not meant for military assault, its more of a VIP and property protector
anyways
it was made before a lot of now standard armors and weapons were developed

@Howie262 The 5.7 didn't replace the 9mm in NATO because German delegation objected and the standardization process was indefinitely halted
over-penetration: Internal ballistics has largely put the issue aside when putting LE statistics into perspective
LE statistics show (depending on department) that officers only connect with 12% to 49% of their shots fired. This means that at BEST 51%, at worst almost 90%, of shots fired sail downrange, and are a greater threat regardless of penetration

@MaxAC40 No, depending on the mission. You dont always want too much penetration especially when there's civilian considerations like in a hostage situation.
If the 9mm round was obsolete the entire world wouldn't use it.
the 9mm is what it is, its not trying to be the best round in the world.
Every gun/ round has advantages / disadvantages....
Usually most enemies dont have body armor in the civilian world, so there for 9mm is perfect.
if not 5.56 will do the job of penetrating.

@ZHF1992 power? what about that speed , you are gone in a sec
-
Didnt even see him reload lol
-
no recoil

@ZHF1992 power for what? it's used for close quarter situations in places like a residential zone where you don't want a high powered round that can go thru your wall and your neighbors wall...sure most body armor is designed to stop the 9mm but in situations where the mp5 is used you're close enough to put a 9mm in the guys face...

@alpinebs x51 (1) and x39 (2)
5.56 (3), 9mm (4)
10 series is box fed MG, 20 series is belt fed, 30 is rifle, 40 is semi auto, 50 is sub gun
larger calibers don't suffer velocity loss as much as 5.56 from shorter barrels.
idk, the mp5 just doesnt deliver the power most people are looking for
