For my friend John who bought a Lawton unit from Tom at PWMPOWER. What a joke.

  • Good work Zero..thanks for your time and effort..regarding resonance, maybee have a look at radio ham sites...i was taught..one over two pye route LC equals the resonant frequency

  • Thanks. I've been advanced class for almost 30 years.

  • Thanks. I've been advanced class for almost 30 years.

  • what was wrong with it?underrated MOSFET??

i got better gas production with the battery drill trigger,as compared to the lawton circuit i built.

was a bit dissapointed with the lawton circuit, but bare in mind it should be pulsing the field stator of an alternator-not just run alone-im guessing thats what the pulley is for?

  • No, component selection was fine. Older revision design, unregulated power to the 2nd 555, destyroyed both 555's and the MOSFETs in the process when powered from >20V. Also, piss poor construction methods. Looked like a child's junior high school project.

  • I have the D14.pdf that has the layout of the PWM fired from an alternator or from a battery and also battery with the chokes/coils to the HHO plates or tubes. Is that the most current schematic out there, and if so what MOSFET are people using in place of the BUZ350 that is out of date/obsolete? BTW Zero, great work as always.

  • Yes, the d14 layout is the most recent but it's designed to be run from 12v and no more. If you operate from anything greater than 12v you will need to add a 7812 or equiv to regulate the voltage getting to the chips < or = 12V.

The BUZ350 has a max drain current of 22A cont 88A peak, 0.12 ohm on resistance. Tom at least used IRFP064's which can handle 70A cont, 520A peak, 0.009 ohm on resistance. But they will pop if the gate-source voltage exceeds +/-20V.

  • Do the spacers mess with the resonant frequency?

  • isnt this just a gated pulse train...alias a tone burst generator? pretty sure it is or rather the 555 timer books make the same lawton wave. and why arent cmos 555 chips used? and why wouldnt a dc supply that feeds the generator be easy tio measure current with? my supply is 1-15 volts at 60 amps, switching, the 300 dollar mcm tenma that has volt amp dig readouts and so i have not exceeded what pure dc does on hho plates

  • g'day zero.

i have been experimenting with my lawton pwm and can not work out how to take an accurate measure of amps as the the current is pulsing.

i wish to take it from the input to the pwm so as to show complete power used/volume of gas.

can you suggest a way to do this.

    regards andy

  • I've got the same supply at the house been playing around with it for awhile it's kinda fun every now and then to put some resonance on the pipes. Cool vid gets 5 stars

  • is the pwm work by dave lawton really works? on WFC because i also construct it and it give pulse but in same produce even if without pwm and i also work the previous pwm and the D14

  • For now just looking for vehicular use. Thanks for the info for future use when I lok at going 110 rectified.
