that was stock injectors, i've since rebuilt the motor with 86mm pistons, new head stuff, and run 740cc with a tomei turbo and put down around 375whp

Yes. They used smaller gears in the same 5 speed casing. The smaller gears just can't take the punishment that the 5 speed could.

how much psi can you add if you have cam upgrades on the stock S15 turbo on the safe side?

Cams have nothing to do with how much boost you can run. Cams just allow the motor to breath better which creates more HP. you have to find out where that turbo stops becoming efficient.
