I totally agree! Thanks for making this video.
Wouldn't it be amazing if the media started examining the size of each branch of religion (Catholic, Baptist, Muslim branches, ...) It would help secularism out tremendously. They would start battling one another for who has the better translation and have a harder time seeping into government under one big umbrella.
I agree with you about the separation of church and state. It is the only way to preserve civil liberties.
The more fundamentalists Christians are quick to say that this nation was founded on "Christians principles."
But what they forget is that those founders were ESCAPING religious persecution - the KIND of persecution that comes with any fusion of church and state.

I always found it kind of funny that we keep calling ourselves "A Christian Nation" and referring to ourselves as "One nation under God," when one of the reasons the country was established, was to break away from that kind of Theocratical mindset *cough* Britain. And now Britain is being far more progressive than us in the Chruch and State area, while we are trying to become a theocracy.

@snuzzlebumble Indeed! Sadly, we seem to be taking huge steps back.

So, if there will be biblical rule, will there be stonings? Killing of disobedient children? (pull in the rest of Leviticus, why don't you). No, religion and politics simply do not mix, and I find it ludicrous that an atheist, wiccan or even a satanist cannot hold office as a president. We have religious parties here in Holland, but an atheist has as much of a chance to get into office in the government as a religious person, and that's how it should be.

@coolvibe1975 I agree that religion should not be a staple for our leaders. No wonder we've been held back for long! (And it is only going to get worse thanks to the media)
