This clip is from a California's Gold show that highlights California's most extensive and characteristic ecosystem, the CHAPARRAL. Join famed California aficionado Huell Howser and well known chaparral ecologist Richard Halsey as they explore several beautiful types of chaparral, discuss the chaparral's misunderstood relationship with fire, and discover the true home of the California grizzly bear.
Yah Huell! I was so happy when I saw this play on the TV.

How do we know that the Cali Griz was the biggest, is he saying compared even to the Kodiak griz? I heard a story about a monster griz killed in soledad canyon(acton, Ca) weighing at over 2000lbs. For point of reference ,the famous Grizz in the movies and comercials even though it seems big its only 1200 lbs(was)

I love this show! Didn't know there were so many chaparral's :) We all know which chaparral is the most important to save, though. Good job Rick and Huell, keep on helping save California's natural environment!
