Obama's Afghan plan: More troops and more casualties?

President Obama is set to announce his plan for U.S. forces in Afghanistan on Dec. 1 and most analysts expect an escalation of troop levels. What does Obama hope to gain with this strategy? Can it actually lead to an exit of U.S. forces from the country given that turnover in the Afghan army and police force is nearly 25 percent?

it is important for the USA to control oil in the middle east. afghanistan, iraq, pakistan, iran, these places lie between Saudi Arabia and China and Russia, and Europe. If we allow pipelines heading north up towards these countries we will lose influence in the region. They could stop trading oil in dollars, that would totally screw us, we cant let that happen.
