Gameplay from the NES game, Wrath of the Black Manta.

In the 80s and early 90s, everyone was a ninja, and everyone had an anti-drug message. Where the two intersected on the Nintendo, we got Wrath of the Black Manta, about a ninja in a fairly bright purple outfit walking around in broad daylight throwing ninja stars at identical thugs and holding guys at knifepoint.

As ridiculous as it sounds, it's not a bad game. All that's missing is the FBI seal and "Winners Don't Use Drugs". I think.

  • Just picked up the new Deus Ex: HR game tonight, and here I am watching a walkthrough of a video game that was popular over twenty-years ago. HA!

  • @AmadeusExcello You've got this all wrong. This game was never popular.

  • "Who could be calling in the middle of the night?" - Once a ninja, always a ninja!

  • @kamratframjandet You have to understand, this was the 80s. You were either a ninja or the guy in a white T-shirt and jeans that beat the ninjas up. There wasn't much of a middle ground.

  • Wait. Why did his master call when he was right there? And did he have a cell phone? And how did Taro leave that note at the crime scene telling where he would be held at? Did the kidnappers tell him?
