video was a big help. I had to keep windows defender active otherwise I kept getting an error every time I booted but at least your tips slowed the accessing down a bit. Before it was constant....thanks again.. vista is a hard drive killer

A good informative video very useful. BTW it's exactly the same for Windows 7.
BTW the only anti-virus I use with Windows Vista and 7 is MS Security Essentials. Although MSSE wasn't out when this video was posted.
