Since the release of this review there seems to have been one very common misunderstanding concerning something I said. Considering this discussion was not rehearsed, its understandable that some of the wording here might not be as clear as it could have been, nevertheless I wanted to quickly clear this up.

There comes a point in the review where I say - as if I were Nero - "So now I'm gonna go back in time and destroy every single planet in the federation".

Some people apparently thought I was saying that Nero deliberately went back in time, and having re-listened to my brother and I's conversation I can understand how that may have happened.

This, however, was simply poor wording. Had I scripted this whole thing out I would have said "So now that I'm in the past, I'm going to..etc, etc, etc."

I am aware that Nero's journey through time was an accident, but whether it was deliberate or not, his actions in the past are simply asinine.

Anywho, just wanted to clear that up.

  • @EdMan2012 movie was stupid. it was made for kids with ADHD who can't sit in a chair for five minutes unless they are constantly bombarded by waves of special effects, pointless action scenes and toilet humour. This movie really is is embodiment of everything that's wrong with modern day hollywood cinema. :(

  • @KnightInExile7 Problem is that I don't consider this to be a good movie at all. When I think about good popcorn flicks I think about original Indiana Jones movies or about Back to the future trilogy, not about movies like Bayformers or new $tar Trek movie, Those movies are treating its audience like bunch of idiots. Jokes about sex with farm animals, about puking, about grabbing breasts, characters acting like adolescents morons and tones of plot holes and cliches.RIP Hollywood

  • Sorry Matthew, but you liked Transformers. You cannot criticize this.

  • @HelloFade2 I thought that the first movie, The Motion Picture, was decent. And I liked Star Trek 3: The Search from Spock.

  • So here's a question for Matthew(well ok everyone), most people say the even numbered Star Trek movies are good and the odd numbered ones are not so good, Are there any even numbered Trek movies that you don' like? Are there any odd numbered ones tha you do like?

  • Most of matthews reviews i agree with

  • take a look at redletter media review for it ,

  • come on guys it was a "cool" movie

  • @1701EarlGrey Also, you're right about Hollywood being creatively dead and I think that's a good thing. The Indie films are surpassing Hollywood and while some of them are junk, the majority of them are fantastic. With any luck, in time we will have a brand new science fiction universe created by an Indie film production company that focuses on character and plot development. :)

  • @1701EarlGrey I completely agree with you, but the point I was making is that the new standard for popcorn flicks is exactly what you said: farm sex animal jokes, puking, and grabbing breasts. And let's not forget about Kirk "sleeping his way to the top" and becoming captain of the Federation's Flagship Enterprise without having ANY experience captaining lesser profile ships, it's unrealistic at best, pathetic at worse. That's evolution for you. :(

  • @EdMan2012 If there will be Nokia, Budweiser and Beastie Boys 200 years from now then you can talk about realism. :)
