A trip down memory lane for many people. A rare video taken in 1991 showing around the school. The school has now been demolished to make way for a housing estate. This is a piece of history... Enjoy !!

  • Thankyou SO much for uploading this, I was at Emmanuel from 1975-77 and the only face that looked familiar from that video, was (Mrs Rush?) at 7:28 on the clock. Some incredibly nostalgic shots of Bethel and the Tennis Court/Grassy Bank above. If you see the state the school grounds were left in by the demolition crew, it brings tears to your eyes. There is a Facebook Page, devoted to preserving pupil memories of the school however.

  • that was excellent,I really enjoyed that I was in the prep school from 1990 till the school closed in 94,I think the prep school moved down to join the grammar school in 1992, so I don't recognize many of the pupils in this video but the place was fantastic, many good memories.

  • Thanks for posting certainly brought back memories. I was there from 77-82 and I recognise the bearded gentleman at the start as my French teacher (who always had interesting stories about his time in the police force in Kenya!)

  • Thanks Keri, I even remember his sister, she taught at the school too at one point. What a school Emmanuel was, small, 300 to 350 students, but what good times I had from 1979 to 1987. Unfortunately I have made contact with very very few friends (maybe they weren't really friends like I thought)since I left. Though I have come across a few on Facebook which is nice. Please do forward my contact to Phyl Rees should you ever meet up with him, he was a great man. Terry Lablache from Seychelles.

  • Hi Terry

Phyl left Emmanuel, I think he went to Essex Uni, got some sort of building/engineering degree. Started Topps Concrete Products in Swansea, then Keystone Planning & Developments. I've been involved on a few projects with him but nothing for a while. Sorry to say Marty, I think he's doing quite well. Keri

  • Dude, what a pleasure to watch. Thanks for posting this vid. It does like hiles mentioned brings back oh so many memories. Yes, Miss Rush, I do remember her well too. You guys have any idea what happened to Phyl Rees the PE teacher? I left in 87 and he was there then. Thanks again. Terry

  • Wow, that brought back some memories. You don't get the same feelings from photos as you do from video. The only person I really remember is Miss Rush, that was excellent. Thanks for sharing. K
