@LesterWare Man! DO I appreciate that kind of info!!! Thank you. How can I look up more of that stuff myself? I am a late (in my 40's) bloomer with discovering my curiosity with archive wrestling, even though I was just a mediocre wrestler and a pretty good coach in the 80's and 90's. I wish I could see all the matches on film too.

How many people out there have more old footage like this? It's gold to some people like me. Simply fascinating. Was this recorded with family video or is it from a sports or news show? I wish for a website to make it easy for anyone to find archive matches, by year, place, even or name(s). It shouldn't be this rare to find significant names/footage. Dan-- a legend now; Bruce-- gold medalist in everything. One grainy youtube video. Big money athletes a fraction as tough? Everywhere you look.

Dan Severn is still in amazing shape, 30 years later. The guy still fights MMA on a regular basis.

i went to bruces heavyweight camp for three years and it was a amazing experience hope you go you will really enjoy any of the camps!!!

Dan was the hard luck guy in the nationals.
Freshman year 35-0 including 2 wins over the defending NCAA champ and a win over Olympic Champion Ben Peterson 5 wins over Howard Harris. Blew out his knee no nationals. Junior year Howard Harris goes up to Hwt goes 48-0 and Dan takes 4th at 190. Dan goes up Senior Year and loses to Lou Banach in the semis who pins Baumgartner. Dan is an alternate on the Olympic Freestyle team at 220 behind Lou Banach and Baumgarner wins the Olympics.

for sure dude... bruce has freakin soo many creditionals in wrestling, and is at olympic level, dan is maybe 5 levels behind someone like baumgartner.
