The Brood War Aria is one of my favourite songs of the StarCraft saga. While I prefer the female voiced version, this one holds up very well.

It is heard in-game during the cutscene "Heir Apparent" and is listened to by Valerian Mengsk. It is part of the "I, Mengsk" soundtrack.

  • OK... I like this version, I really do. But am I the only one that thinks that it somewhat looses it's edge without the bass-baritone ending? The part where, in the original, it switches from Latin to French, and the female singers are replaced by a choir of male preformers?

I dunno about the rest of you fans out there, but the male part was always my favorite moment... Bah...

  • @CoreyStudios2000 There is no Italian/French/Russian in that music. The correct word is Latin :)

  • @killuanp3228 I want it but the old version with the end song so epic

  • actually prefer this version, happy ending much.

  • I want this song in my funeral xD

  • @KuunLan87 Maybe the French version was used in Brood War in the battlecruiser because the Admiral of the United Earth Directorate is French (Admiral Gerard DuGalle).

  • @Thejin2027 That would be koooooool

But still, not cool to mock funerals dude

  • This aria is sung in funerals of Korean Starcraft players.

Lol, just joking... or am I?

  • this song has great body to the song but the end trails off dead

it NEEDS the heavy bass ending like the original brood war song

  • i say starcraft and starcraft II have the best soundtrack out of any video games halo is my 2nd favorite

    and next is WOW

  • To be honest, I like this better than the original version...when both are taken on their own. The crescendo at the end of the original seems to work much better with the scene it was written to accompany.

That said, this redo is about the only good thing to come out of Starcraft 2.

  • @KuunLan87 Different composers. Glenn Stafford wrote the aria, Jason Hayes, the French choir after it.
