Their crannog (man-made island) is still in the Convent Lake in Monaghan town. You should visit it. First Crannog of in Ireland ever made. Famine's over now... ;)

Well all McMahons in Monaghan are desended from a line beginning with Eochaid mac Mathghamna miec Niell who comes from clan Nuighsad which in turn comes from clan Ui Cruthilinn of the Colla na Tri of Eeremon.I dont know any living relatives in Monaghan just yet but I do know we hail from Donaghmoyne(old barony of Farney).
