F1 Theme Parks

How cool is this??? Two F1 Theme Parks are currently under construction in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Both are due to be opened in 2009. This video has pictures of the developments and artist impressions of how it will look.

Dubai

As part of the MotorCity development, F1-X Dubai will feature thrill rides, F1 exhibits, karts, shows, ceremonies and interactive expos.

Bernie says - "We are delighted to be able to bring the world of Formula One, past and present, to the public. If you don't live in the Middle East region, you can rest assured because F1-X parks will be opening in other countries relatively soon, the plans are already made".

The owners say - "Feel the speed and motion, take the wheel, be immersed in the behind the scenes action, touch the past, present and future of the worlds most dynamic sport".

Abu Dhabi

As part of the Yas Island development, the Ferrari Theme Park will feature 24 attractions including roller coasters, go-karts, a pit-lane team experience, virtual reality racing simulators, a g-force simulator, racing school and an interactive museum.

This 250,000sqm park (80,000sqm covered) will have a twin rollercoaster ride allowing you and a companion to race against each other, a 70 metre-high G Force tower, rally driving and dune buggies.

The owners say - "Yas Island will have a world-class racetrack winding its way around villages, marina and dunes. You can enjoy the activities of the racetrack from the sky deck of the Aldar signature Hotel or from the comfort of a yacht berthed in the marina. Better still, you can test-drive the circuit with seasoned instructors on the only Ferrari driving school in the world outside the Ferrari Maranello base".

Give me a break. Indy cars are fat, not comparable to F1 racing. We cannot compare acceleration and settings of a F1 to Indy. F1 is much more sophisticated and with deep know how in settings for non-oval circuits.

You can see any F1 driver performing very well in Indy cars, but the opposite is not true.

Consider also the amount and media coverage around the world for both events. F1 has much more audience and coverage worldwide than Indy. Money is also in Asia and other countries
