  • Still looks like a Typhoon.

  • @trippletear i think they mean when you look directly up at the typhoon,

    the "hawker" outline shape of wings is similar to the fw190?

  • Nice video. I don't know anything on planes so could someone correct me. Was the Typhoon the end result of all the Spitfire marks, and then the Tempest was drawn up.

  • the typhoon +tempest were brand new designs on their own.

    their designers remarked that the war office wouldnt buy anything unless it looked like a spitfire. lol

    theyre my faves. like a spitfire on steriods.

  • Mr Cholmondeley-Warner's historic commentary is priceless !!

    Simply, the Hawker Tempest was Britains ultimate 'propeller fighter';

    It really was "The Guv'nor". -Truly Brutal & Vastly more powerful than anything else in The RAF -Just look at the huge prop blades !

    -The Tempest was The Luftwaffe's Worst Nightmare. -Devouring pretty much everything in its way. -As it was designed to do.

  • It was a tank buster/fighter bomber that needed to hold its own against the FW 190. Canadians used it best in the Falaise gap. Hundreds of tanks busted, focing the Germans to travel at night only.

  • Can anyone tell me which of the planes Typhoon, Tempest and SeaFury is generally spoken the best Aircraft ?

    Apart from one having highest topspeed, or carrying maximum bomb/rocket load, which one was first choice if it comes to the pilot (handling, reliability, etc..) ?

  • The Typhoon and Tempest were designed and made by Hawker the Spitfire was Vickers-Supermarine

    Anyway the Typhoon was introduced in 1941, the main Spitfire mark at the time was the Mk Vb

  • I think it's because the Typhoon was somewhat similar to the 190

  • did they show it to the Americans?
