Pulsejet Starting - Model T Ignition Coil Overview

This is a quick video showing a simple Model T ignition coil setup that can be used for starting pulsejet engines.

The Model T coil is a simple self contained unit which can be run on 6 or 12 volts DC, and produces many sparks per second.

The sparks are plenty hot enough to ignite liquid fuels like gasoline and kerosene, without being instantly deadly like high voltage neon transformers.

We keep several model T units in stock for making custom starting systems, though if you can solder you can pretty much make one yourself.

Definitely, you can run them off a wide range of voltages, at top speed the model T magneto system produced 48 volts apparantly, min voltage is about 6 volts, I run mine at 12 and works nicely.

hi can you pass on a link for a neon light transformer to give plasma ignition for adapting through a invertor thanks would like to get into 100,000 v if possible

Neon transformers are not meant for ignition, nor should they be played around with by people who dont know what they are doing, they will kill you dead with 1 shock.

I have a question. Have you made this yourself, or have you bought this online or from someone else? If you bought this somewhere online or do you know the brand of this reproduction ignition, can you maybe pas this to me. It looks cool by the way. Greeetzz
