Within this review, I will go over the unit itself as well as i will be testing it out on two different games and see if the change in controller will change my skill level.

First Impressions,
Taking it out of the box, you feel that its quality made, with a good size USB cable. The unit has 8 switches on the face of it, each one represents a Turbo feature for a specific button on the controller.

There is no install because its as easy as plugging it in and turning on your PS3. You know the unit is working as the Blue LED will be visible and you will show up as Player 1 on the Controller itself.

The middle X button does its job as the PS button. It at first feels weird to be able to do this function with the feeling of another controller in hand. The only feature that this button doesnt replicate is the ability to turn the console on. As the controller is powered by USB and USB only being activated when the system is ON, you have to get up and turn your PS3 on Manually.

Once your system is up and running, your Blue LED is on and your Controller is showing you its Controller 1, your all set to get into the action.

When you get into a game, the first thing you need to do is change the button layouts. Because the game is meant to be played on the one for the system, the default layout is a horrible one to use. The reason for this is that people hold the two controllers differently. Check out the difference in the picture below.

Xbox vs PS3

As you can see, people holding a Dualshock, will tend to use their middle fingers for L2 and R2 triggers as people holding the 360 Gamepad will use their index fingers.

Ive tested this device for two separate games. One being the PS3s Exclusive KillZone2 and the other, Multi-platform hit, Call Of Duty 4.

Killzone 2s controls were designed to be played using a PS3 Controller. Typically, an individual using a Dualshock would have their Index fingers on the L1,R1 buttons, and both middle fingers on the L2 and R2. Each button with a finger ready to go at any time. The specific control scheme chosen in killzone 2, does not work well when using the default button layout on a 360 controller. Having to hold both, Triggers and the Bumpers at the same time doesnt feel right.

A way around this is changing the button layout. I originally used Alternate 2″ as my controller layout with the Dualshock, but then switched to Standard 2″ as this turns your triggers actual triggers.

For some reason, I do not feel it necessary to use a 360 Gamepad when playing Killzone2, but my opinion does change when it comes to Call Of Duty 4.

My skill level improves drastically when i play Call Of Duty 4 on a Xbox 360. This frustrates me because I would rather play it with friends who have it on the PS3.

The Cross Battle Adapter works wonders for this game. When you first get into it, switch your controller layout to Default Flipped and you are ready to rock as these are the same controls as if youre playing it on the 360.

Now, with the help of the Turbo, i can use the Big-Ass Machine gun and not end up shooting at the sky because of its recoil.

At the end of the day, the CBA does its job really well. You are able to use your Wired 360 controller on your Sony Playstation 3, and with the Plus model, you even get rumble!

Advantages/Pros: TURBO. Using the Turbo feature on your trigger finger does improve accuracy because you will be shooting bursts when holding it down. Also, you tend to conserve ammunition as youre only firing half the bullets as usual.

360 Gamepad is better for First Person Shooters. Many people agree with me when i say it has a better layout as well as in-hand feeling.

Cons: To match your desired controls to the 360 gamepad, you have to do so manually within the game.
This does not feature any SixAccess control.
This must be done with the Wired Xbox controller, so No wireless control.
