The title is very untrue. It has nothing to do with being nice. If you pay close attention to the mannerisms of the male counterpart, he's being (in PG context) a wussy. Women want men to know what they want and for them to be assertive with what they want. Big difference between nice and being a wuss.

I don't think anyone "deserves" another person, because people are not prizes to be won. =/ If you're a genuinely nice guy/girl you won't be bitter and expect your friend to like you for being what you're supposed to be in the first place -- a good friend. Respect their feelings and if you can't handle them not returning them, move on. Don't ridicule them for not appreciating you or being "blind". That's just disrespectful, and not something a true, genuine nice friend would do.
