TAS competes with other TAS and never with non tool-assisted speedruns.

I think these top TAS are very impressive. Most of them has been improved close to perfection over many years, inventing new strategies, discovering tricks and glitches.

1. Its an emulator.

2. they just use slow down and save states, which are tools available by default on any emulator.

rarely in a tas do they use actual outside of the emulator tools unless they made a homebrow emulator.
