Silver Comet and Chief Ladiga Trails Completion Ceremony

The celebration of the completion of the longest hard surface paved trail in the USA, the combined Silver Comet
and Chief Ladiga trails is yours to watch. The celebration took place at the state line gateway near Esom Hill, GA. on September 27th, 2008.

It is now possible to ride these trails between points near Smyrna, Georgia and Anniston, Alabama for a distance of about 95 miles.

Instead of a ribbon cutting ceremony, they had a ribbon tying-together
ceremony, to celebrate the linking of the two states together by these two
wonderful trails. Many people worked very hard to make these trails a reality, and many volunteers and workers along the way help keep
the trails maintained and safe. My thanks to everyone involved.
