World Heroes developed by ADK hits the arcade room in 1992 on the Neo-Geo MVS game cabinets. This fighter game has a graphics art distinct look unique only to WH. I owned the AES cartridge of this game back in the day and had lots of fun playing it. Catchy music, voices has reverb effects which make it sound good.
Available for game systems:
Neo Geo MVS, NeoGeo AES, and CD
Nintendo Wii Virtual Console VC
82 Megs

  • This was actually developed by ADK (or Alpha Denshi Kabushiki Kaisha). ADK started as an independent, minor electronics company, before jumping in the video game business. Their first two video arcade games were Shougi (a typical, but very good chess game) and Janputer (world's first arcade, Mahjong game). Later, Sega and Tecmo published their games, before ADK became a partner of SNK. merlin196, who commented on this video, is correct. Don't judge by the book's cover.

  • World heroes characters are based on historical figures and other known figures.

  • Lol @ 1:07. Looks like Hulk Hogan....and even rips shirt off like him lol! :D

  • It's a 2nd rate clone of Street Fighter....so that's about it. But it's fun. When it got ported over to the Sega Genesis & Super Nintendo, both of those ports were oddly mediocre.

  • A total fan of the enitire 'World Heroes' series, so I like this video of Part 1!

The best of the bunch was 'Perfect,' but that made sense, as it was the last in the series, which ADK actually improved over time.

  • I really love this game. Playing this in the arcades made me want to buy an AES console. A lot of people dismiss it as an SF2 rip-off but the game does have originality and also really nice colourful graphics. The death match mode is a great idea.
