While waiting for the UP 1989 in Stockton, I saw a very short BNSF train pulling piggyback trailers. I'm paraphrasing the term "B Train Shorty" from the popular N scale sized Japanese model trains.
I used to work in Pittsburg along this line and it never ceased to amaze me the number of engines BNSF had pulling short trains. I also live along the SP/UP line and maybe see three engines for 100+ cars. It is quite a contrast. Great video.
