The railway companies are lying about trainsurfing. This frontriding railworker is a good example.

  • ihr habt doch keine ahnung der typ darf das (das nennt man rangieren )

  • @Warnetahlbahn Ich verrate Dir ein Geheimnis: Jeder darf alles. Man nennt es Leben! :)

  • Wie ihr alle keine Ahnung habt

  • @thedampflokfan96 Gib ihnen doch die Ahnung! Sag einfach was Sache ist :)

  • Yes, people who work for a railway company may, whenever practical and/or necessary, ride on the outside of a train. That's why they have steps and handles to hold on to. They do not do this at high speeds though, and they are in communication with the driver of the train.

I am rather in favor of people's rights, including the right the endanger yourself in whatever way you see fit. However, I am glad that this particular trend hasn't really caught on here in the Netherlands.

  • @FightTheElite I like your Username ;) but hey, the tactic of elites to control people is: preventing them from trying things and educate themselves. They do it psychologicaly, saying "it is dangerous if you do this or that" and it works and keeps them in power as long as you listen to them. But trainsurfers don't give a fuck on those claims, they face their fears and try stuff. That's why I can identify with surfing and practice it to show, that it's not more dangerous than motorbiking!

  • @alasrati Good thinking

  • Well, it's Niebüll - what can you say? At least it's next to Dagebüll.

  • They do this just while shunting!!

All fair enough from your point of view. If you work for the railways though, you get a different perspective. Most people just think about the individual trainsurfer and what risks he is taking. I also think about the poor sods who have to scrape the bits off of the tracks if the trainsurfer slips up.

So no, the reason that you're not allowed to surf on trains is not because we care about if you live or die, we simply do not want to have to deal with your mutilated corpse.
