Last week, one of these videos ended up in my "Videos Recommended for You" section on the YouTube homepage. Assuming it was just a harmless application, I decided to download and run it. Lo and behold, the file disappeared and a number of unwanted programs ranging from BHO's to keyloggers end up on my computer.
After several failed attempts at getting rid of the software, my computer would no longer start up correctly, and I eventually ended up having to actually delete all partitions from my PC and create a new one. Thank God I had a backup!
Unfortunately, I didn't find out about these until after the fact:

YouTube needs to know about this!
EDIT: And yes, I know I misspelled "description".
Wait, people still fall for this?

As crazy as it sounds, yes, people still get viruses.
