  • excellent demonstration ,your closure of the defect than putting the mesh ,definitely give more cosmetic outcome

  • @pghleo7 , I just had the same procedure as you- -sutures only.  My doctor told me that mesh wasn't needed because my opening was so small and it didn't make any sense to enlarge it just to add mesh. He told me that he's been performing these procedures since '79 and he's had a success rate of 97%. He said that if I follow his orders and not do any strenuous lifting for up to 6 weeks, then I'll add to that 97 percent.

  • How large was the defect? I recently had a small defect repaired with sutures only, and with research done since, i have noticed so much use of mesh. Perhaps sutures are sufficient for small repairs?
