  • Hey I have 2 ?s:1 is astronomy (or astrophysics)a good major and 2 after I get a 4 year degree I want tot go the the military and go back to college and get a phd. Is that possible?

  • @afrosamurai303 hell yes, if my school offered it astrophysics would be my major, am actually considering changing schools for it. Any sciences is a good major, and yes, while you're in the military, most officers get masters, ph.d's are usually left for medical slots. I'm not 100% on getting a ph.d in a science field, but you'll def have the money to go back once you're done.

  • This video is incredibly close-minded. College degrees are not worth what it used to be, you are right, BUT that doesn't mean that liberal arts majors have no business in colleges. College is not only about getting a job, to some perhaps it is, but I know for me personally, when I go back to get my masters int he next year or so, it will be in Philosophy or religious studies. I have no intentions of making a dime off of those, but it is the EDUCATION I am paying for, not the piece of paper.

  • @Cruz7906 I agree with you. from what I've seen, most liberal arts majors don't really know how they're going to use their degrees thus a waste of time. I've talked to a few of my professors bother liberal and technical about this and my opinion has changed a bit since i made this video.

  • good points man, im about to switch majors right now and was about to switch to a liberal arts but im having second thoughts

  • Currently I work a job that does not require a college degree, that said, I have enough money to pay my student loans, pay rent on my own apartment just outside of DC, and pay my car note for the 2011 Accord I bought after graduation. I will begin my "real" job in 2 weeks making 50k a year starting. I am not stressing over not having an engineering degree, but I sure as hell am glad I learned things that can actually be used in the real world (outside of work).

  • @davidperaza210 yes, but you decrease your chances a lot of becoming an officer that route depending on the branch of service. It also takes a lot longer. The most common route is to do your 4 years of enlisted, go to college 4 years and commission the 8th year. Then you have another 4 years to serve as an officer.
